As we start this new school year we wanted to make sure you were able to see the updates we published over the summer. We’re so excited for this new school year, can’t wait to see everyone!


Parent Orientation Tonight!

Tonight is our Parent Orientation from 6-8pm in the gym! Light refreshments will be served. Following the presentation in the gym parents and students are encouraged to visit their students’ classroom for information from the teacher.

Session 1: 6:45pm

Session 2: 7:20pm


Handbell Choir Auditions

We have an exciting year planned for TVA Bells! This year’s music is going to be really fun.

We will have 3 handbell choirs this year - Beginner (grades 3 and up), Intermediate (grades 5 and up), and Advanced. To join Intermediate and Advanced, students must audition.

Auditions will be held after school September 1.

Students in grades 3 and up received an audition form - parents/guardians must sign it prior to auditions in order for the student to audition.

Fall Sports

This fall we are offering the following sports:

The parent meeting will be August 31 at 5:45pm in the gym. This meeting is required for all parents who have students participating in fall athletics.

Important Dates

There is no school Monday, September 4 in observance of Labor Day.

Picture Day is Wednesday, September 6.

Home and School meeting is Thursday, September 7. A Zoom link will be sent by email.


Band Instrument Rental

This year we have 5th-6th grade band and 7th-10th grade band!

Instrument rental will be September 6 from 7-8:30pm in the gym. Students can rent instruments from TVA on a first-come-first-serve basis or rent from Beaverton Music Services, who will be present that evening. Beaverton Music Services will also sell supplies for the care of the instruments. They accept cash, check, or credit card. TVA rentals will need to be cash or check.

Worship Workshop Extracurricular - 7th-10th Grade

Worship Workshop is a fun extracurricular class taught Friday mornings before school. Students learn what it takes to create good programming and will support in the area of their choosing. That might be the band up front, the AV team in back, or helping to coordinate our weekly Friday all-school chapel programming.

Junior High and High School Vespers - Save the Date!

7th-10th grade students, save the date for a back to school vespers at the Altman Farm on September 8 at 7pm. More details to come!


TVA Pathfinder Club

Last year our Westside Adventist Churches decided to combine Pathfinder clubs to have one large club here at TVA! Anyone in 5th-12th grade can join, even if they’re not a student at TVA.

This year the exciting news is that our Pathfinder Club will participate in the International Camporee in Gillette, WY in August 2024. It promises to be a lot of fun.

A little about Pathfinders:

Pathfinders is an international program sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It offers many activities, including but not limited to camping, leadership training appropriate for the grade level, activities to support the local community, training for a variety of topics - recreational, artistic, nature, conservation, vocational, and outreach, for which members earn honors for completion, and mentorship by caring staff.

Yearbook Staff - Publications Workshop at Pacific Union College September 10-12.

All High School students - Bible Camp at Washington Family Ranch September 21-24.


Junior High - Save the Date for Bible Camp

7th and 8th grade Bible Camp is back! Our Junior High students will join other 7th and 8th graders from across the Oregon Conference at Washington Family Ranch September 14-17. More details coming soon!


In Case You Missed It: BASE (BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL EXPERIENCE)

This school year, BASE (Before and After School Experience) will be offered in the mornings from 6:45am-8am and in the afternoons from 3:15-6pm (M-TH) and Fridays until 5pm.
