Classroom Parents / Service Weeks
What do Classroom Parents do during their service weeks?
You will contact your child’s teacher at least one week in advance to determine how best to support them/the class during your scheduled week. Depending on when you’re able to support them, you may do things like photocopying classroom materials, putting together supplies for class projects, decorating or reorganizing in the classroom, chaperoning field trips, helping write family communication materials, speaking to the class on a topic in which you’re an expert, or assisting with fundraising efforts.
What's the time commitment?
We ask that you provide 2 1/2 hours of assistance to your child’s teacher for each week you sign up for. Remember, classroom support counts for twice the service hours of other volunteer experiences.
