Family Night and Silent Auction Fundraiser for Camp Fire Victims
Help us help our sister school, and have some fun and score some great Christmas gifts while you’re at it!
On November 8, 2018, the beautiful mountain town of Paradise was destroyed. The scope of destruction is unfathomable. At this time the death toll stands at 88 with 206 people still missing.
The fire that destroyed most of the town did not leave the school untouched. Thankfully, part of the school still stands. While insurance will pay for repairs and rebuilding, the town is uninhabitable. The infrastructure is gone. There are no utilities available. The school has been relocated temporarily to the Chico Seventh-day-Adventist church. They resumed classes there on November 26.
According to Paradise Adventist Academy’s principal, Monte Nystrom, they desperately need tuition assistance. Many of the families not only lost their homes, but they also lost their places of work along with their income. TVA will be conducting a silent auction to raise some tuition relief for the families of Paradise Adventist Academy. All of the funds gathered at this event will go to PAA’s tuition assistance fund.
We are planning a fun evening with a family-friendly movie in the gym. Snacks and drinks will be sold to raise funds for this project. The silent auction will be in the Jr. High/High School building. Each class will be contributing a basket to the auction with fun and tasty items. There will also be gift cards to restaurants, spas, and other services. Be on the lookout for great experiences too, like paint nights, concert tickets, sporting event tickets, etc. All of these make great Christmas gifts. What could be better than doing your Christmas shopping and supporting a worthy cause? Donations will be gratefully accepted and are tax-deductible (receipts will be provided).
Please help us support our sister school, Paradise Adventist Academy. Come to our fundraiser and bring your friends and family.
If you have any items, gift cards, event tickets, or services that you would like to donate to this cause (also tax-deductible), please contact Holly Garbi at holly.garbi@gmail.com.
